The One Who Is Conscious
There once lived a man on a land far away;
He spoke the tongue of beasts.
The world is bleeding he chanted oft,
There's still hope left, not all is lost. Have you much to gain wasting your time?
The townsfolk ask. You have not the eyes to see;
I'm the only one who's awake…
and aware of the torment you inflict for your own sake. My heart daily does split in two
hearing my poor babies weep and cry.
Before us humans used to bow,
but now it is our homes that they plough. A deer came once up to me and asked
in a tone almost dead and devoid of being,
“Where did the birds go?” I liked to hear them chirp
higher than they'll ever fly, said I and tears I did curb.
The deer looked at me with defeat in his eyes
and said something that has stuck with me,
“Humans have gotten too comfortable wounding their mother.
Tell them to cease or the embers she will smother.” Devotion turned to indifference, respect to contempt.
What are we without our maintainer? I want them to ponder.
To speak the tongue of beasts turned to a curse,
The sorrow overwhelming…alone in the cosmos. The sin of others piled high, couldn't bare it anymore,
Suffer on the behalf of humanity I must…their only messenger.
234 days of penance, mother nature granted me an audience.
I'm sorry I couldn't sway others, give me one last chance. Why do you repent on their behalf? Let them feel sorry for their actions.
A drop of tear forming, I astonished at her innocence.
Mother their conscience has too long gone by.
Doesn't matter. A mother always forgives or at least does try.
This power…it's too much sorrow for me to handle.
Take it away! Take it away! I want it not!
Listening to their wailings gnaws away at my soul…
Oh! You're fed up with the power you yourself stole!? Mother nature strips him of his powers, a boon turned to a curse
now a normal man
this was the story of a man who lived a land far away
the world at last bled out but there wasn't much he could do or say.
He spoke the tongue of beasts.
